Story time!

When Tom was found he was skinny, covered in fleas and dirt. He was walking strangely on his three legs, not being able to stand on the forth one as it was damaged and painful. Tom was noticed by a lady passing by who immediately called us. When we took Tom in he was very scared and terrified, during the first couple of days when going to the vets, he stayed cowered in the corner of his kennel, scared, confused and extremely sad. However, after the leg surgery Tom turned into a very different cat! He became unbelievably sweet, lovable and only wanted to be loved. He demanded to be cuddled, to be next to you, to follow you everywhere, to push his head close to your neck and to purr, long, determined, lovingly. One day, thanks to the organization World Animal Friends in the UK, the person that was to become his mom read his story, saw his picture, and fell in love with him. She adopted him, took care of him, loved him so unconditionally until his last days where he passed away in his moms care, knowing what warmth, comfort, and true love/adoration really was. 💕
We miss you so much our lovely boy 🖤

Do's and Don'ts for introducing your new pet to an existing pet 🐶💗🐱

- Do introduce them gradually
- Don't let them interact unsupervised
- Do try scent swapping. Try taking a cats blanket and putting it near your new pet, for example, so they can get used to the scent.
- Don't allow pets to chase eachother at first, even if it seems like a game. This can be a damaging interaction.
- Do try feeding the pets on opposite sides of a door to begin with
- Don't rush or force introductions. Each pet will settle in their own time.

These are only a few of many tips on new pet introductions. If you are bringing a new pet into a home where there are existing animals, do consult your vet and the shelter you are adopting from; they will be able to give you plenty of advice to help you with the first few weeks of their lives together

Cats lick themselves to clean and groom! Straight after birth, mother's will kick their kittens clean, then at roughly 4 weeks old the kittens will clean themselves.
Cats will also groom themselves to regulate their body temperature, clean wounds, and to keep their coat and skin lubricated.
If your cat likes to be brushed, then appropriate grooming tools can be used to help them and also create a bond between you and your pet. 💗
Look out for obsessive grooming as this can indicate underlying issues.
