One warm summer day we were called because a white fluffy kitten with a pink flea collar was abandoned in a park nearby. We took her in and discovered immediately that she was completely deaf!
The flea collar turned out to be a very dangerous and cheap collar that had made all the fur around her neck fall, and it had also created a couple of different bald spots wherever the collar had touched and she was ridden with fleas!
As the saying goes, “the road to hell is paved with good intentions,” wanting to help them, we sometimes unwittingly hurt them.
Let’s take the time to say: we pay twice as much when we buy cheap things. Be careful when choosing a collar or use other methods and techniques to protect your kitten from fleas.
She became a lovely little deaf diva at the shelter and every other cat respected her without any questions asked. She loves to cuddle and give love bites to any human that will touch her, she also loves to climb people and show them that a cat on a shoulder is much more interesting than a parrot.
She was not very welcoming towards new feline additions to the shelter and until she established her position with them she would not accept them however, after the introductions were done and over with she became best friends with them immediately.
